Alternative Accommodation for Trainees

Once you have applied, the Phnom Penh CELTA centre will be able to offer support with local accommodation. Also, ask about their package deals for the CELTA. Alternatively, you can organise your own using websites such as www.airbnb.com and www.booking.com. Accommodation can range from around $5- $40 per night.

Phnom Penh and Surroundings

Phnom Penh is often commonly known as the “Paris of the East” due to its French architectural heritage and design. It is certainly a very dynamic city, bursting with energy, perfect for doing a CELTA course. With over 1,500,000 citizens, it is the busiest city in Cambodia. As with most parts of Cambodia, Phnom Penh has a hot tropical climate that is usually around 30 C so leave those woolly jumpers at home! Although you may not be able to find a McDonald's here, why not use this unique opportunity to try the local delicacy of Tarantula kebab?! As for places to visit, when you are not lesson planning, you can take a stroll along the Sisowath Quay or a Sunset Cruise on a traditional Cambodian wooden boat! For more information on mesmerising Phnom Penh, see the Lonely Planet Guide. [parent] => 1854 [count] => 3 [filter] => raw ) )
