My experience was a very positive one. Despite the stress and frustration, I believe I received very good training.
The tutors, Geraldine and Brendan, were amazing and did their best to deal with the sleep-deprived trainees. They were approachable and provided us with good, constructive feedback, each in their own, unique way.
I was prepared for the CELTA experience as I had read a lot about the course and read some of the recommended books that helped me to see what the course would be like (“The Ultimate Guide to CELTA” by Emma Jones and Amanda Momeni) and to get familiar with the teaching methodologies and terminology (“Learning Teaching” by Jim Scrivener).
I didn’t expect to make such good friends on the course, but I did! We helped and encouraged each other and had good fun! I will miss them.
If you are really passionate about teaching English and seriously plan to pursue it as a career, then this course is the first step towards it.

Tutors are all practising teachers of English who divide their time between teaching and teacher training. They are highly qualified and experienced both as teachers and trainers and themselves take part in ongoing training programmes, such as attending conferences and in-house development sessions, in order to keep abreast of the cutting edge of the ELT profession.
