Accommodation in Auvergne

We recommend Auvergne CELTA candidates book accommodation through AirBnB.

Alternative Accommodation Options:

We have a variety of host families who are happy to have you stay. You always have a private room, free run of their kitchen and access to the wi-fi. The price is usually between €400 - €450 for the four weeks of your stay. We also have some self-contained accommodation available which tend to be more expensive. Houses in this region of France are known for their charm, elegance and distinctive architecture. We believe that being surrounded by beautiful things helps make your CELTA that extra bit special. Successful applicants are sent accommodation options at least a month before the course starts so that you can organise your trip well in advance and contact your hosts, who are often willing to come and meet you at the train station or airport.

Taking your CELTA in Lyon allows you to take advantage of one of France's most beautiful cities. Lyon is known for its stunning architecture, wonderful food, and lifestyle; the terraces of the cafés in the medieval historic quarter are always full of people exchanging news and views and generally enjoying life. Lyon also has a very efficient metro system.

Lyon is also the heart of the economically thriving Bouches de Rhône region of France. It has always been an important economic hub in France, first of all as a central trading point for the silk industry. Nowadays it is known as the capital of the medical and pharmaceutical industry in France with related in-company teaching opportunities. It is also, of course, the birthplace of cinema and proud to honour the legendary Lumiere brothers with its magnificent winter 'fête des lumières'. Accommodation in Strasbourg

The partner training centre can help arrange accommodation for Strasbourg CELTA trainees, such as hotel stays for students from outside the Strasbourg area. Please indicate that you are going to require help with accommodation when you apply. Alternatively, we recommend candidates book accommodation through AirBnB.

Strasbourg and Surroundings

Strasbourg is the destination for exploring the political and economic issues which influence language learning in Europe today. On the frontier between France and Germany, home to the magnificent new European Parliament building, the language unit of the Council of Europe, and the European Court of Human Rights, Strasbourg is the city where European policies are made. It is also a vibrant, multicultural city which has long struggled with the conflicting interests of Europe's two major languages, French and German. As English becomes more and more the language of commerce and international communication in Europe, there is nowhere more interesting than Strasbourg to watch this happen. Strasbourg is also the capital of the Alsace region of France. Beautiful forests, mountains and vineyards are its characteristic features. The quality of life here is very good, and during your stay in Strasbourg you will be able to sample those uniquely French pleasures of life: wonderful food, beautiful scenery and, at least here in the Alsace, a not too hurried approach to the question of good living. However, remember that CELTA courses, in particular, are extremely intensive. If this is your first visit to Strasbourg, do build in time either before or after your course to look around as you probably won't get a lot of time to do so during your CELTA!
