CELTA Course Formats in Perth - Full Time, Part Time, Online Blended and Fully Online

When deciding on taking a CELTA via Perth, it's important to pick a timetable that is suitable for you. The different types of CELTA courses are as follows:

CELTA Full Time

The CELTA Full Time course is typically four weeks long, Monday to Friday and is usually between 9am - 5pm. You will need to be at the centre in Perth to complete the entirety of this CELTA course. This is an intensive and immersive course where you will need to dedicate four weeks of your time to the CELTA. We strongly suggest you do not work or have other commitments while completing the full time CELTA course in Perth.

CELTA Part Time

CELTA can also be taken in a part time format, which is great if you live locally and have other commitments. The part time course will be at the centre and usually run over 10 - 15 weeks and they typically run either on a Saturday or in the evenings (check the course information).

CELTA Online Blended

This is a more flexible way of taking the CELTA. The Online blended course is a mixture of online learning and classroom learning and can be taken over 12 - 16 weeks (check the course information). Typically, you need to complete approximately two weeks of classroom learning, whether that is in a two week block or spread across the course e.g. two evenings per week. The classroom learning will be for your teaching practice, guided lesson planning and feedback sessions. The rest of the CELTA is self-study and can be done at home.

The CELTA can now be taken online via Perth to ensure schools, tutors and student's safety during Covid-19. There are two ways to taking the CELTA -- full time or part time.

CELTA Online Full Time

The full time online CELTA means that you need to complete the course in 4 - 5 weeks. Typically, the timings are the same with the courses being Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm. It is very similar to the standard full time course except all components will be done via Zoom and the Cambridge Open Source learning platform (Moodle). Zoom will be for your live, assessed teaching practice, Guided Lesson Planning (GDP) and Feedback sessions.

CELTA Part Time

The CELTA Part Time Online course can taken over 10 - 15 weeks. This is a more flexible solution as you commit fewer online live learning hours per week and the rest is self-study. Again, you will need to use the video conferencing tool, Zoom, and Cambridge Open Source learning platform (Moodle) to complete the course. Zoom will be for your live, assessed teaching practice, Guided Lesson Planning (GDP) and Feedback sessions.
