The Canterbury training centre opened in 1972, and since then has trained countless highly qualified English teachers. The centre provides students with a 24-hour welfare officer to assist with accommodation, health and safety, as well as a dedicated work placement consultant. It is equipped with free Wi-Fi, a computer room, a coffee bar and student lounge with music, TV, video and DVD. For international students, the centre offers visa assistance and airport transfers both on arrival and departure. It also organises a number of weekly social activities and discounted tickets to local nightclubs.
