The classrooms, kitchen/cafeteria and amenities were all excellent. The printers and computers in the library were often high in demand, and as a result the computer systems were quite slow. Still, staff and tutors were often able to print documents or access files for me if neither printer would function.
The tutors were wonderful. Supportive, full of useful criticism. Each had years of diverse teaching experience and professional development. Both had a sense of humour, a warmth and a keen insight into our progress. Each was able to demonstrate teaching concepts to our class with great clarity.
Though I haven’t yet begun teaching, I imagine this course will be very useful once I do! I am a much more confident teacher of EAL to adults, and also, I think, a better self-evaluator.
I would tell others who want to do the course to do the pre-course tasks! Buy a grammar reference book graded to the level of your potential students!
I intend to find work teaching EAL in Melbourne, save a bit of money, and then move to work in Europe (hopefully Spain, France or Italy).
