The CELTA was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had as a teacher. I learnt so much in such a short time, and the sense of achievement at the end was incredible. Taking the course abroad made it even more worthwhile — I met people from all over the world, shared ideas, and felt part of a truly international community. That diversity enriched the course and made the hard work feel meaningful.
It is true that the CELTA is demanding. The workload is heavy, and there are moments when you feel stretched. But the intensity is what makes it effective: it pushes you to grow quickly, to adapt, and to develop skills that stay with you long after the course ends. I still managed to balance the course with a bit of work, going out, and enjoying life, which reminded me that it’s possible to keep perspective even during such a busy time.
The CELTA tutors are there to guide you throughout. Even if you feel a lesson didn’t go as planned, they will always help you highlight the positive aspects and show you how to build on them. Their support makes the journey less daunting and helps you see your own progress more clearly.
When you finish the course, you are proud of what you’ve achieved, grateful for the people you’ve met, and ready to take your teaching into new contexts with confidence.
It is worth taking it!
