Do you want a career change to English teaching? Do you want to travel the world? Or maybe you want to progress your ELT career?
When it comes to teaching English, the CELTA is one of the most respected and internationally recognised TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualifications.
As teaching practice is the main component of the course, CELTA qualified teachers are in demand by many reputed language schools across the world.
If you want to broaden your horizons and have access to more job opportunities, the CELTA will offer you real teaching practice and the core knowledge of teaching English as a foreign language.
Traditionally, the course is taken in a classroom where you will need to be at the CELTA centre for the duration of your course. It’s important that you can commit to the required time of the course at the centre, whether is it a full time or a part time CELTA course.
Due to Covid-19, the CELTA can now be taken 100% online to ensure the health and safety of candidates.
The course can be taken through a video conferencing platform (e.g. Zoom) and Cambridge Learning Platform (Moodle).
The most popular way to take a CELTA.
The intensive full-time courses last4 – 5 weeks, e.g. Monday – Friday, 9am to 5pm.
Part-time courses can last over several months depending on the centre.
This means fewer class hours per week e.g. Tuesday and Thursday evenings.
Online blended courses enable you to take the majority of the course online.
You only need to be present in the classroom for your teaching practice. Typically a 10-16 week course.
