Krasnodar and Surroundings
The city was built on the margins of Kuban River in Southern Russia, with a population of just under one million inhabitants. It is the second-largest city in Southern Russia, as well as the Southern Federal District.
Krasnodar has a lot of history, and you can learn all about it at the locally famous Felitsyn Museum. The museum exhibits local archaeological findings and the story behind the Russian Civil war that made what Krasnodar is today. The city is also known for its stylish cafes, such as LuboCoffee and Coffee Bliblioteka that gives you good options to have a warm drink, meet up with your friends or peacefully read a book.
Once you are in Krasnodar, you are only a few hours from Sochi and the Black Sea (where the 2014 winter Olympics were held). If you are not into your sports, you will also have the option to visit the world-famous Sochi tea plantations for the afternoon.
You can see more about Krasnodar via the official tourism page.
