I took the intensive CELTA training in February 2018 at the Cambridge Station centre in the UK. I was lucky that our group was half of what it usually is; therefore, I and the other trainees could get double attention from the trainers. The course is very intense and requires a lot of time and effort from the trainees. Two trainers were responsible for the input sessions, tutoring and evaluating the lessons I have taught during the course. Both of them were very experienced and the interaction was easy and beneficial. The school itself offers a great structure from classrooms to library and computer room. In our specific classroom, we had access to many books that were there especially for us, which helped a lot too. Trainees were also allowed to use printers and copying machines to prepare material for the classes and the kitchen, to heat food up and prepare tea/coffee. The school prints out flyers about the free lessons what resulted in many volunteer students coming to our course. This was essential for a real experience of teaching a group with genuine necessities and from different backgrounds, ages and cultures. I have learned a lot in this course and it prepared me to go directly to the classroom, the methodology is completely “hands on”. I highly recommend the CELTA course and the Cambridge Station Centre.
