About the Teacher Training Centre in Canterbury, Kent

The Canterbury training centre opened in 1972, and since then has trained countless highly-qualified English teachers. The centre provides students with a 24-hour welfare officer to assist with accommodation, health and safety, as well as a dedicated work placement consultant. It'd equipped with free Wi-Fi, a computer room, a coffee bar and student lounge with music, TV, video and DVD. For international students, the centre offers visa assistance and airport transfers both on arrival and departure. It also organises a number of weekly social activities and discounted tickets to local nightclubs.

The centre in Canterbury is located right in the heart of town, just five minutes' walking distance from the cathedral and central library and museum. It sits right in the middle of Canterbury East and West train stations, both just a half-mile walk from the centre.

Accommodation

The Canterbury teacher training centre can organise accommodation for a number of different lifestyles and budgets. Once accepted onto a course, the welfare staff will help you to arrange somewhere to stay.

Homestay

A homestay option is provided by specially selected families. The student will receive their own, single bedroom, and the family will provide breakfast and dinner from Sunday to Sunday. The centre also offers a small number of executive homestays with private bathroom facilities and double or superior rooms, at a slightly higher cost.

Canterbury welcomes almost 3 million visitors each year and there's always something to see and do. Two major European capitals are within easy reach (London-Victoria 90 minutes; Paris Gare du Nord 2.5 hrs).

Canterbury's stunning cathedral is the oldest in England, and, along with the St Augustine's Abbey and St Martin's Church, make up Canterbury's World Heritage Site. The city is easy to cover on foot, with a whole host of historic monuments mixed in with a vibrant dining scene and modern shopping districts.
