The Training Centre

The academy is located in the centre of Las Palmas which is the capital of Gran Canaria.  It is only 4 minutes walk from the main bus terminal therefore it is easily accessible from many different locations.

The school has a very relaxed atmosphere with tutors and staff always on hand to help applicants with any queries or problems that they may have. There is plenty of material to aid the students who are taking part in the course and amenities to make the work easier.

The average winter temperature in Gran Canaria is 22º and it never goes below 19º.

Hostels

Las Palmas has several hostels which cater for tourists on short stays and there are also several hotels located near the academy.  A single room with a shared bathroom in a hostel starts at approx. €360 (room only) per month.

Las Palmas and Surroundings

Gran Canaria is the meeting place for people from many different locations forming a blend of cultures and a rich history as one of the world's oldest and most important ports. In the past it was the last European port of call, prior to setting off on a long ocean voyage.

Las Palmas de Gran Canaria has kilometres of beach and ideal climatic conditions which allow the beaches to be used all year round. Las Palmas is one of the few destinations in the world where you can surf all year on the city beach.

In Las Palmas de Gran Canaria ‘taperío’, trying different tapas or aperitifs, is very popular. The areas of Vegueta, Triana, el Puerto and Tafira are the usual places for trying some of these tapas at small terrace bars.

If you want to see more of the island, it is easy and cheap to move around by bus, or as the locals know it "Gua Gua". The are holiday resorts in the South of the island, perfect for soaking up some sun. On the west you will find more rural areas with banana plantations and rocky beaches. In the centre of the island you will find a lush green zone with lots of pretty villages with multi-coloured houses and colonial wooden balconies.
