Muscat dates back to the first century CE when it was known as an important trading port between the powers in the West and the East. The landscape of Muscat is lined with the Western Al Hajar Mountains. The city is on the coast of the Arabian Sea and is characterised for its small white buildings.

Climate in Muscat

Muscat is a hot and arid city with long and hot summers and warm winters. There is very little rainfall in Muscat, this tends to fall between December and April. Temperatures tend to exceed 40ºc in the summer.
