About the Teacher Training Centre in Budapest

The Budapest teacher training centre has a great reputation for training teachers since 1988. The highly advanced team in Budapest work hard to pass on their knowledge in the most effective way possible and provide the support you need. The centre is a few minutes walk from Széna tér bus stop and Mammut bowling club, located within minutes walk of a supermarket and shopping centre.

The centre now offers teacher training courses to native and non-native speakers of English. It is an approved University of Cambridge teacher training centre offering teacher training programmes leading to the University of Cambridge qualification in teaching English, i.e. CELTA Certificate.

The permanent team of nine highly advanced teacher trainers have a lively and fun outlook when teacher training. They are an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced group and have been carefully selected to ensure the highest standard of teaching for our CELTA and Delta trainees.

They all meet the Cambridge ESOL teacher training requirements.

Enrollment Procedure

If you believe you cover the minimum requirements to be considered as a candidate for one of the teacher training programmes that we offer in Budapest, Hungary, ask for the application package of the course of your choice.

Prospective trainees must complete the application package and return it via email as attachment to the Programmes Coordinator well in advance before the preferred starting date.

Within a few days after receiving your application package, someone from the teacher training department will contact you at their own discretion and will advise you on the next steps to take.

As a StudyCELTA trainee, you will be able to sign up for free to our TEFL jobs website www.teflwork.com. TEFLwork is a platform only for qualified English teachers and will allow you to find work both at home and abroad with your newly gained CELTA certificate.

Getting a VISA

For alternative cases, help and advice is given by the centre to obtain a Visa. Candidates are issued with an acceptance letter once the deposit for the course has been paid. In such cases, 60 days is recommended to arrange the Visa before the course start date.

Accommodation in Budapest

The Budapest teacher training centre is happy to arrange accommodation for you in a comfortable 1 or 2 bedroom flat within a short distance from the school. You will be able to reach the school either on foot or via Budapest’s excellent public transport. Each flat is equipped with wireless internet, a washing machine, and in many cases other appliances such as a microwave, a dishwasher, etc. If you request a share, you would most likely be sharing with someone else on the same course as you. Flats cost 95.000 Ft per person in a share, 155.000 Ft for a single, including utilities, for a four-week period.

It’s also worth mentioning that online flat services like www.airbnb.com have grown considerably in Hungary and have become a very good option for finding good flats often at reasonable prices, so you might want to check that out. It’s usually possible to negotiate a good price, so don’t be put off by the per day costs they tell you on the site.
