Medellin and Surroundings

Medellin, located in the Aburrá Valley, is Colombia’s second largest city. About twenty years ago, Medellin was labelled as a dangerous city. However, times have changed and Medellin is now one of South America’s high ranking cities in terms of its booming economy. These days, Medellin is a regenerated city. With a benign climate that encourages outdoor activity, the city centre is full of life. You can have a tranquil wander around the Plaza Botero and stroll around its parks whilst admiring the talent of musicians performing. Not too far away, you can find a number of interesting museums, such as the Modern Art Museum or the Memory House Museum. Medellin is ultimately an ever-growing city going through its very own renaissance, attracting many visitors by its energy for innovation.
