The Training Center
The Wellington CELTA Teacher Training Center is the only centre in Wellington delivering this prestigious course. Situated in the heart of Wellington's Central Business District, its facilities include classrooms, lecture rooms, student common rooms, kitchen and a computer suite.
The Wellington Training Center continues its legacy by providing the most supportive and prestigious environment in Wellington for studying English language and training English teachers. This is achieved by setting the highest possible academic standards, and creating an environment where each student/trainee feels like they are part of a large international family. The 3 directors of the Training Center are all teachers themselves, with more than 70 years of teaching experience between them.
About the CELTA Trainers
The tutors at the Training Center in Wellington have worked internationally and bring a wide range of key experience, qualifications and knowledge to the course. All CELTA trainers undergo a rigorous selection and training process that is monitored by Cambridge University. To further enhance quality the Center invests in occasionally recruiting top trainers from other centers around the globe to work at the Wellington Center. To ensure that the trainers are up to date with methodology the Center also encourages the CELTA tutors to work abroad each year on the international circuit.
Employment Prospects
At a regional and national level demand may fluctuate but globally and overall there has been a sustained high demand for English language teachers. CELTA certification is the best choice to enhance your employability. The course includes workshops dedicated to helping you find the kind of work that you want. As a recognised Teacher Training Centre, teaching positions for other schools can occasionally be advertise, although we cannot act as a recruitment agency.
