"In August of 2012, I completed a four week CELTA course at the Teacher Training Center in Hobart. I had taught English briefly overseas before deciding that in order to give my students the best lessons I could, I needed to be and feel, as trained and qualified as possible.

This led me to choosing the CELTA course, as it is one of the most well-known courses for learning to teach English. It turned out to be one of the best things I’ve ever done. The high intensity of the course meant that my sole focus during the month was on learning to teach English.

The information, teaching practice experience and tutor feedback that I received on the course, has been invaluable.

Since I completed my CELTA, I have been working full-time as English teacher in Tasmania. I love teaching here, the atmosphere is amazing and the students are as enthusiastic about learning English, as I am about teaching it.

I highly recommend the CELTA course."

- - Hetty, Australia / CELTA Hobart, Australia

"Having recently moved to Adelaide I was looking for a change in direction in my employment and the CELTA course was recommended to me by another experienced teacher looking for a different teaching situation.

The thorough application and interview process prior to the course gave me a very clear picture of the expectations of the course and the commitment required to complete it successfully. I was very grateful for this.

The presentation of the CELTA methodology by the course tutors was very comprehensive and their support and patience of all the students in the course was really appreciated. The course was fast-paced and demanding and I soon understood the recommendation of the Main Course Tutor to minimise other commitments during the four weeks of the course. The daily input was always interesting and encouraged me to continue to unravel the theory of the learning and teaching of English as an additional language.

The afternoon teaching sessions allowed frequent practice of the methodology in a supportive classroom with a range of international students. The international students were inspiring and diverse and their enthusiasm was definitely motivating for me.

Feedback from tutors and peers after these frequent teaching sessions was constructive and invaluable to help me to develop my teaching effectively.

The opportunity to study the CELTA with a small group of students with a range of ages, careers and previous teaching experience was stimulating. The camaraderie of the other CELTA students was at times a life-saver and we still keep in touch to reflect on our CELTA experience, share information of our current employment and have a good laugh!

After the CELTA course I soon got employment as a relief teacher, which developed into part-time and then full-time work. The international students that I now teach are a delightfully diverse group of inspiring people.

I thoroughly recommend the CELTA course as an opportunity to increase your qualifications, to develop different teaching skills and employment opportunities and to expand your horizon."

- - Diana Ware, Adelaide – CELTA Adelaide, Australia

"I completed the CELTA in Adelaide in 2011. It was a very intensive and demanding course but the course trainers were able to offer as much support as required with their wealth of knowledge and experience.

The course requires a lot of commitment, initiative and ‘thinking on your feet’ but the feeling that you get afterwards is extremely worthwhile. For me, the highlights of the course were being ‘thrown into the deep end’ and teaching English learners during the course and also analysing teaching.

After my successful completion of the course I was lucky enough to secure almost immediate employment at a local college.  Not to mention that I have not yet even explored the plethora of teaching options that are available to me in many countries overseas.

Looking back now, after a year of full-time teaching, I feel that undertaking the CELTA was definitely one of the most rewarding decisions of my life, both professionally and personally. Completing the CELTA has provided me with the opportunity to work and interact with people from all over the world on a daily basis.  It also provided me with a strong foundation on which I could develop and grow as an English language teacher.  Without the course I very much doubt that I would have been able to expand and refine my English teaching skills as quickly as I have.

If you want to start a career in English teaching, want a career change or if you want to travel and live around the world, the CELTA is an extremely valuable and highly recognised qualification that can open the doors for you to achieve your goals."

- - David, Australia - CELTA Adelaide, Australia

"I first considered enrolling in a CELTA course as I was interested in extending my experience and improving employment prospects. As a teacher with experience of teaching in government schools, plus some conversational English teaching experience in Japan, I was interested in seeing what other opportunities were available.

A four week course is obviously quite a commitment but one I am glad I undertook. The course is demanding with classwork to digest, lessons to prepare and assignments to complete so there is little time for anything else.

However it is also inspiring as I left with so much knowledge, an insight into alternative learning and teaching approaches, together with actual teaching experience with genuine ESL students. I was thrilled to have the opportunity to meet such fascinating characters in person.

There is also the opportunity to observe English language teachers in action which is also beneficial. The tutors were excellent, imparting their knowledge in a variety of interesting sessions. The CELTA qualification has without doubt enabled me to find employment in Adelaide so for me it was a very worthwhile challenge and one I would recommend to anybody interested in professional development."

When I thought about what my CELTA course at CELTA Training Centre in Dublin would be like, I could've never expected such a fantastic experience. For a whole month I did nothing but studying and working hard in order to absorb everything.

From the very first day the staff at CELTA Centre in Dublin was most supportive and the facilities and resources were excellent. Our fully equipped teacher's room was located right opposite our trainers' office, thus allowing us a constant contact with them.

For me, coming from Spain with just my passion for teaching, a month in CELTA Centre in Dublin meant the true career start I’d been longing for ever since I finished college some years before. I would recommend – and in fact I do – the CELTA Course at the Training Centre in Dublin to anyone, English students and teacher trainees alike.

- - Diego Gracia Bordejé, Spanish CELTA Course in Dublin, Ireland

Studying for the CELTA at The Teach Training Centre in Dublin has been a very positive experience for me. Although the CELTA course is quite intensive and sometimes challenging, the wonderful facilities at the school and the professionalism of the tutors made it all very achievable.

The location of the school is very convenient, just off O’Connell Street right in the heart of the city and close to public transport links. The classrooms at the school are roomy, bright and well-equipped – perfect for doing the practical teaching component of the course.

One of the things I liked best about the CELTA Training Centre in Dublin was the dedicated common room made available to the trainees. We had internet access, our own photocopier and a good range of teaching resources on hand. The staff at the school are very welcoming, and they did everything possible to help us during the programme

I started teaching within a few weeks of completing the course and I use the techniques and skills that I learnt on the course every day with my students.
