Cambridge DELTA Course Information

University of Cambridge ESOL Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA): The Cambridge DELTA is an internationally recognised qualification for experienced teachers of English wanting to open up career avenues to more senior ELT posts for which the DELTA is invariably required

Minimum entry requirements

1. have a minimum of two years full time (1200 hours) teaching experience of ELT to adults within the past five years
2. a degree
3. prior qualification in ELT (e.g. CELTA)

DELTA Sydney Course structure and dates - 2012

The DELTA course is comprised of three modules, which are assessed individually.

Module One:

Understanding Language Skills for Teaching. Assessed by written examination in June or December each year.

Module Two:

Developing Professional Practice. Assessed by coursework - a combination of assignments and continuous assessment of Teaching Practice plus one externally assessed Teaching Practice during a 5 week intensive course.

Module Three:

Extending Practice and English Language Teaching Specialisation. Assessed by extended written assignment submitted to Cambridge in June or December each year.

You may apply for the combined Module One and Module Two course, or the Module Three course or both courses. Courses can be completed in any order.

DELTA Modules One and Two:

The Training Center offers an integrated course for Modules One and Two.

- Component A) Pre-course independent study component (approximately 40 hours, over a period of 5 weeks prior the face to face course starting date)

- Component B) Intensive 5 week full time course (face to face )

Dates Module 1+2 preparation DELTA course in Sydney : 5 Mar - 5 Apr 2012 (+ approx. 40 hours of pre-course study over a period of 5 weeks prior face to face course starting date) - Written Examination June 2012

DELTA Module Three:

The Training Center offers a distance mode course with a specialist focus on teaching classes preparing for examinations (e.g. IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, TOEIC).

Module Three: AU$750(plus 66.75 pounds sterling approx. examination fee )
