Cambridge DELTA Course Information
University of Cambridge ESOL Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA): The Cambridge DELTA is an internationally recognised qualification for experienced teachers of English wanting to open up career avenues to more senior ELT posts for which the DELTA is invariably required
Minimum entry requirements
- have a minimum of two years full time (1200 hours) teaching experience of ELT to adults within the past five years
- a degree
- prior qualification in ELT (e.g. CELTA)
DELTA Sydney Course Structure and Dates - 2013
The DELTA course is comprised of three modules, which are assessed individually.
Module 1:
Understanding Language Skills for Teaching. Assessed by written examination in June or December each year.
Module 2:
Developing Professional Practice. Assessed by coursework - a combination of assignments and continuous assessment of Teaching Practice plus one externally assessed Teaching Practice during a 5 week intensive course.
Module 3:
Extending Practice and English Language Teaching Specialisation. Assessed by extended written assignment submitted to Cambridge in June or December each year.
You may apply for the combined Module One and Module Two course, or the Module Three course or both courses. Courses can be completed in any order.
Integrated Course for Modules 1& 2.
40 hours (approx) of pre-course independent study over a period of 5 weeks + 5 week face to face intensive course. Written Examination June 2013
