Cambridge CELTA Online Distance Courses
Online CELTA Teacher Training, Australia
What makes CELTA different to other online courses is the importance it places on observed and assessed teaching practice (a minimum of 60 hours). So, whatever course you take, a stint somewhere where the CELTA is run is unavoidable. How long you have to be there is where you can have a choice.

An alternative is the Distance CELTA via Adelaide or Perth where you can do your practical component in a condensed two week period.
Adelaide:
- 8 weeks online distance: this blended online learning part of the CELTA course consists of an online component of input sessions and collaborative theoretical tasks with other students, and also a practical component of teaching practise.
- Candidates should expect to devote 10 hours a week to the online component. However, this is an average figure and some students may find that they need more time to complete the online tasks.
- 2 weeks in classroom, face to face onsite in Adelaide: the practical teaching component is spread over 2 weeks with an example timetable being Monday to Friday 1:30pm to 5:30 pm. During this time, students will get help with lesson planning, practise their teaching on a group of students and also get tutor feedback on their teaching.
Perth:
- 22 weeks online distance: this blended online learning part of the CELTA course consists of an online component of input sessions and collaborative theoretical tasks with other students, and also a practical component of teaching practise.
- Candidates should expect to devote 4-5 hours a week to the online component. However, this is an average figure and some students may find that they need more time to complete the online tasks.
- 2 weeks in classroom, face to face onsite in Perth: the practical teaching component is spread over 2 weeks Monday to Saturday. During this time, students will get help with lesson planning, practise their teaching on a group of students and also get tutor feedback on their teaching.
