About the Training Centre in Newcastle
The Teacher Training Centre Newcastle is placed in a building of special historical interest and beauty, located in the city centre of the lively university city of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, close to theatres, galleries, museums, restaurants, night-clubs and pubs as well as relaxing gardens and parks.
The premises have 16 classrooms, a large student cafeteria (selling “fair-trade” hot and cold food and drinks) and vast Personal Study Programme suite.
For all students at the school, there are social programme and welfare staff to help you enjoy your course and make the most of your time studying in Newcastle.

Our Teacher Trainers in Newcastle
The reputation of the Training Centre in Newcastle is largely attributed to the high quality of its staff. All the teachers and trainers are highly motivated specialists in the teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). All trainers have a Cambridge Certificate (CELTA) and/or Cambridge Diploma (DELTA). The School currently has 4 full time trainers – 2 of which are DELTA trainers.
Some of our trainers and teachers are specialised in certain areas such as EAL ESP Younger Learners, Business English, Cambridge examinations and IELTS.
Many of the teachers and trainers have taught in other countries in a wide range of teaching situations. They continue to develop professionally by attending in-house training as well as workshops and conferences. By keeping up-to-date they can pass on the most modern and effective methodology to their trainees.
The Training Centre in Newcastle is one of the world's leading teacher training centres, approved by the University of Cambridge for the running of CELTA and Delta among other courses.

Homestay (self-catering or half-board)
The Training Centre Newcastle offers self-catering and half-board homestay accommodation. Most homestay accommodation options are located within 20 minutes travel time from the Teacher Training Centre.
Staying in a homestay is an excellent way to experience the local culture and integrate in the community. A host family is not always two parents and children: Many hosts are couples or single people without children.
Self-catering homestay is a great value option which includes the same features as the homestay half-board option but without meals for flexibility and independence. Students can use kitchen facilities in the family’s house. Students must cook their own meals and respect the rules of the kitchen in the homestay.

Charlotte House self-catering student apartments
Location: Newcastle city-centre
Charlotte House city-centre self-catering apartments are only 5 minutes’ walk from the Training Centre Newcastle. Each apartment has 3, 4, 5 or 6 lockable bedrooms, 2 shower/bathrooms, living-room and kitchen. All utilities and wi-fi connections are included. Bedding, crockery and cutlery are provided. Students should bring their towels. The rent includes twice weekly cleaning of the common areas.
Students are responsible for keeping their bedroom, bathroom and kitchen in a clean condition. These apartments are ideal for students who want to be independent and in the company of other international students, close to all the places of interest in this lively University City.

Newcastle and surroundings
Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (often shortened to Newcastle) is a lively university city located in the North East of England with a population of around 150,000.

One of the most famous sights is the 'Tyne Bridge', which was the world's largest single span bridge until its famous cousin in Sydney, Australia was opened.
Newcastle is also well known for its pub culture and there are many lively bars to suite all tastes as well as the traditional pubs where people can just enjoy the real ale and conversation. The most famous area for nightlife is the Quayside, especially at weekends.
