About the Teacher Trainers

The Centres in Malta based in Sliema and Gżira count with trainers that have worked internationally and bring a wide range of key experience, qualifications and knowledge to the course. All the trainers undergo a rigorous selection and training process that is monitored by Cambridge University.

To further enhance quality the Centre invests in occasionally recruiting top trainers from other Centres around the globe to work at the Training Centres in Malta. To ensure that the trainers are up to date with current methodology the Centres also encourage the trainers to regularly engage in continuing professional development.

Accommodation Gżira Campus Courses (CELTA and TESOL Courses)

Hibernia Residence:

The Hibernia Residence & Hostel is a seven storey building which has recently been refurbished taking into account the needs of the new generation of youth.

Centrally located in the heart of Sliema, within walking distance of the famous Sliema promenade, the fantastic night life of Paceville, the commercial centre and the main public transport service, it is no wonder that Hibernia is in great demand.

15 minutes away is the Teacher Training Center, The Strand shopping centre, the School's own Aquacenter Beachclub, St. Julian's/Paceville night life (discotheques, night clubs, bowling centre, cinemas, bars, restaurants, sandy beach, etc.).

The University of Malta is 20 minutes away, Valletta 6km and the Malta International Airport is 8 km away.

The Residence consists of 34 spacious units which are made up of 20 studios and 14 superior studios.

Each unit comprises:

1. Private shower / bathroom, practical and comfortable furnishings: single beds, open wardrobe, desk, internet point, safe deposit box, ceiling ventilator, convector heater, kitchen cupboards, electric cooking hob, micro-wave oven, refrigerator, cutlery, crockery, cooking utensils, energy saving device and sound reducing glazing.
2. Towels are changed twice weekly; Bed-linen is changed weekly.
3. Studio = one room with 1 or 2 or 3 beds, dining area and kitchenette

Hibernia Residence Common Areas

The building houses a breakfast room / cafeteria, cold drinks and snack vending machines, T.V. and video, meeting room for 35 persons, reading/study-room for 25 persons, internet cafe, coin operated laundry, rooftop sun-terrace, elevator to all floors, electronic door security locks, CCTV surveillance system, reception service (week days in the morning) and night custodian.

Campus Residence:

The Campus Residence is located in Msida, adjacent to the University of Malta sports complex within 15 minutes by public transport to the capital city of Valletta, 10 minutes by bus to the shopping tourist town of Sliema and the nightlife hub of St Julians.

A warm welcome, friendly atmosphere and cleanliness are top priorities. Its young environment for the under thirty-fives makes this residence the ideal place for budget backpackers, independent travelers and students alike!

The Campus consists of 40 apartments each having 2 bedrooms with 3 beds each and 1 bathroom. Sheets, pillow covers and towels are included in the price. Linen change and cleaning is done once a week. All apartments have shared common areas such as the bathroom, a fully functional kitchen and a living and dining area which is common to all the students sharing the apartment.

Each apartment also has a large balcony that overlooks the extensive university sports grounds or the large rear pool terrace and sun deck. All rooms are supplied with a Wireless internet connection.

You may reserve an entire apartment or room on your own or alternatively share a room with other students from other nationalities to make new friends.

Other amenities at the Campus Residence include morning reception, elevators, breakfast room and a large outdoor pool with sun-bathing area.

Homestay / Host Family Accommodation:

The Maltese People are well-known for their hospitality, and through the ages have welcomed people of all nationalities to their Island and in their homes. We have selected a limited number of Maltese families to host our students.

As each person is unique, we do our best to match their requests, taking into consideration their interests, age and individual preferences, to make their stay with a family as pleasant an experience as possible.

Students can book half board (breakfast and dinner) or bed and breakfast. The host families, which are chosen from various localities in Malta, are located up to 30 minutes by bus to the training centre.

Optional 2013: Airport transfer available for 22 EUR each way.

*Please note: The economy accommodation is a regular bedroom like a hotel room with no kitchen and study facilities, but  a common study area is available.

Accommodation for Sliema Campus Courses (CELTA Courses)

Day’s Inn Residence

Day's Inn Residence and Hotel is located at the centre of Sliema within walking distance of the training centrel. It is run under school management and consists of 55 studio apartments and 42 hotel rooms. It has a 24-hour reception service for the safety, comfort and convenience of its residents. Next to the reception, there is a large open-plan student area equipped with complimentary wireless internet service and furnished with comfortable sofas and coffee tables.

The residence is fully-airconditioned and has central heating. It also offers a communal kitchen and laundry facilities.

The Residence offers 2 types of rooms:

1. Studios – each studio has a single bed and a pull-down bed, wardrobe, desk and side table with a reading lamp and television. The rooms are also equipped with a fridge, tea-and coffee-making facilities, a microwave oven, crockery and cutlery and dining facilities.
2. Hotel rooms – each room is furnished with single or twin beds, wardrobe, a desk and a side table with reading lamp and television. Towels are changed twice weekly; bed linen is changed once a week on request

Day's Inn Residence Common Areas:

Student lounge, free WiFi, snack and soft drink vending machines, lift, card-operated laundry room, luggage room, CCTV surveillance system, 24-hr reception.

There are various 3-5 star hotels within walking distance from the school.

Bayview Hotel and Apartments***

Having an excellent location on the Sliema seafront, the Hotel is within walking distance from the training centre and the popular Sliema centre, known for its shopping, cafes, bars and rocky beaches. Bayview Hotel & Apartments offers a variety of room types such as Twin / Double hotel rooms, as well as Studio Apartments and 1 or 2-Bedroom Apartments, all having a modern finish and amenities. The apartments are situated just a few minutes walking distance from the main Hotel building.

Waterfront hotel ****

The Waterfront Hotel is in the Gzira neighbourhood of Sliema, just off the waterfront. This is the perfect choice for discerning travellers seeking comfort and luxury in exquisite surroundings. All of the 116 Hotel rooms are maintained to a very high standard, have spacious balconies and are set with amenities to make every stay at the Waterfront a memorable one. The hotel has an outdoor rooftop pool that is open from May to September. During the summer, weekly barbecue dinners are held on the rooftop terrace by the swimming pool with open views of the Mediterranean Sea.

Rocca Nettuno ****

Rocca Nettuno Suites is a modern, four-star boutique hotel, with forty modern suites right next to the training centre. The suites are spacious, and equipped with a wide range of comforts. The hotel’s reception desk is manned round the clock. The hotel has a choice of food and drink outlets, which offer Maltese snacks, drinks and meals in a casual atmosphere. There is a television room and a lounge, and Internet and wireless internet facilities are also available on the ground floor.

On the roof are the sun-terrace and outdoor pool, with shade and sun-beds throughout the summer season. When the pool is open, the Pool Bar, serves a selection of nibbles and refreshments throughout the day. The bringing together of a range of smartly tailored materials with simple lines of design make every suite a stylish and cosy getaway.

Each suite is furnished to very high standards, with air conditioning and soft lighting. Each suite has a sitting room with comfortable chairs and sofas, television and a dining area. There are food warming facilities, a fridge, toaster and kettle available for the guests to use. There is a separate bedroom with double or twin beds, and a bathroom.
