About the Trainers

The reputation of the school is largely attributed to the high quality of its staff. All the teachers and trainers are highly motivated specialists in the teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). All trainers have a degree, Cambridge Certificate (CELTA) and Cambridge Diploma (DELTA). They also have additional qualifications such as business, academic English and young learner specialisations and most importantly teacher trainer accrediation. The School currently has six full time trainers and one part time member of staff. Some of the teachers are also examiners and assessors for Cambridge.

Many of the teachers and trainers have taught in other countries in a wide range of teaching situations. They continue to develop professionally by attending in-house training as well as workshops and conferences. By keeping up-to-date they can pass on the most modern and effective methodology to their trainees.

The School is one of the world's leading teacher training centres, approved by the University of Cambridge for the running of CELTA, DELTA, TKT and ICELT courses.

Accommodation

Student Houses

The School owns a number of typical family houses, which have been converted for student use. During the summer, we rent additional houses or apartments.

Accommodation is mostly in a single room, although most houses also have a twin and a double room. There is a maximum of five or six students living in one house.

Shared facilities include the living room with television, a kitchen-diner, washing machine and bathroom. Most houses also have a garden, usually with a barbecue. The shared facilities are cleaned regularly, but you are responsible for your own room.

Homestay

Homestay is available in single room or shared room. As the school is situated in a residential area, most homestays are within easy walking distance. During the summer months, some of the accommodation may be further away.

Bournemouth

Bournemouth is one of the finest university towns on England’s south coast. Its beauty and numerous facilities have helped to make it an important centre of tourism, education and business. Harper and Queen’s described us as "the next coolest place on the planet".

Bournemouth has now three times been voted England's best holiday resort. Its extensive facilities are ideal for both the holiday-maker and the many thousands of university and college students who live here. It is also a town of parks and flowers, and winner of the European "Entente Florale". In 2006, we won the gold cup at the Chelsea Flower Show. The School also has a floral reputation, being a regular winner of the annual Bournemouth in Bloom competition.

Bournemouth hosts numerous events during the year, including powerboat races, vintage car rallies, international tennis championships and windsurfing competitions. During the summer, there are weekly firework displays from the pier, musical events and the unique Flowers by Candlelight, when the people of Bournemouth gather to light 15,000 candles in the Central Gardens.

Bournemouth has become very popular with the business world. Several large companies have moved their offices into the town. We are also a major UK conference centre.

For those of you who enjoy shopping, Bournemouth also boasts a vast and brilliant selection of both high street and designer shops, hairdressers and jewellers.
